Hi all.
As I’m still somewhat new to blogging, I’m still adjusting to “how many tags should I attach to my posts”. Some guidelines say stick to less than fifteen. But tags can also be used to help find my blog. Right now I use all the tags mentioned in my Tags I Use page. If I were to use all of them (or even most) in a post, I’d break the 15 tag rule. I like to include the third group of tags (from the “Tags I Use” page) in my posts to help search engines “gravitate” towards finding my posts related to World of Tanks (and in the future World of Warplanes and Warships).
So, as of September I will be removing all the “extraneous” tags from my post that don’t specifically describe to what the post is related. I will continue to attach categories to the posts, which basically drop the post into one of WoT, WoWp, WoWs, or “Blog Related”. “Premium Tank” is in the second group, but that tag will also be dropped as including the nation (eg “American”) more accurately describes what kind of premium tank is being offered.
Another option is to use tank specific tags (eg “T-14”), the danger there is that I might represent the name in a slightly different way than someone else, such as “FCM PaK 40”, “FCM 36 pak 40”, “FCM P40”, and the common “to dash or not to dash” as in “T-14” and “T 14”. For the moment I’m leaning towards nation tagging only as, from an arms length view it will tell people that a nations tank is listed (eg “Russian”), so people can search for “Russian” and find posts related to Russian tanks. As opposed to listing “Excelsior” and people who don’t know what is being offered yet trying to search for a specific tank and not finding it. Basically I’m using a somewhat larger net to catch readers in hopes it’s easier for you (my readers) to find what you’re looking for.
